Here’s how it works. What is a normal A1C? Blood sugar, or glucose, is the main source of fuel for our bodies. It powers up our internal organs, muscles and nervous system. Without insulin the sugars just build up in the blood and can’t get into your cells. Our bodies are designed to keep glucose levels constant in the blood.
